Kailashnath Mahadev is the World’s Tallest Lord Shiva statue, located in Saanga the border of Bhaktapur and Kavre districts. The height of this statue is 143 feet high and is situated 20 km from Kathmandu, Nepal. There is a children’s park and other recreational features around the statue that makes it a popular destination for visitors. About half and hour from Kathmandu, it boasts amazing views of the valley along with the mountains and lush green Bhaktapur fields. Apart from the primary Shiva statue, there is a good-looking statue of the whole family (Shiva, Parvati, Kumar and Ganesh). The stairs leading to the main statue have Shiva-lingas of 12 different forms of Lord Shiva.

The statues construction work was started in 2004 and was completed in 2012.The statue’s inauguration took place on the 21st of June’12. This statue has attracted tourism into Nepal due to it being the tallest and as Lord Shiva is recognized as the lord of the gods in Hindu religion. Mr. Kamal Jain is the man behind this statue and behind the vision of this statue in Nepal. He is the person who had a dream to see the tallest lord Shiva statue in Nepal and therefore he worked hard and pulled all the resources to make this happen. It was commissioned by Mr. Kamal Jain, and he has continued to develop and maintain the site without any support of the government of Nepal. This statue stands on the 32nd position in the list of all statues by height in the whole world. It has been made of copper, cement, zinc, and steel.

What You Can Expect:

10:30 AM: Your tour guide will pick you up from your hotel and take you for an hour-long drive to the Bhaktapur valley, to see the Kailashnath Mahadev Statue.
11:30 AM: You will climb up a hill to enjoy the status and also a great view of whole Bhaktapur valley.
1:00 PM: You will have lunch at a local restaurant. Afterwards, you can also visit the Spa and Massage Centre if you wish (not included).
2:30 PM: Your guide will take you sightseeing to a nearby village (not included) before heading back to Kathmandu.
